Making the Most

May 23, 2011

As soon as that pregnancy test showed a positive result, I started looking at my shopping differently.  I wanted to purchase pieces that would work for the baby bump and beyond…like button downs – perfect for covering the belly, either opened or closed, plus they will also work postpartum – think: easy for nursing.

Today’s top is another great “maternity” piece.  It’s loose with plenty of room for a growing belly, the print is fun, and it can be worn many different ways.  (I might wear it next with a short jean skirt and a military jacket…and I’m looking forward to sporting it post-baby with a pencil skirt and brown belt…or with skinny jeans and a killer pair of heels.)

Are there pieces in your closet that you really try to make the most of?

dress (worn as skirt), top, bracelets – thrift

Yes...that's my daughter and she's in her diaper. I debated posting this, but it's truely a snapshot of parenting. With your kids you pick your battles...and I wasn't about to argue about going outside sans pants. I mean really, in the big picture of things, it's not a big deal...at least I got her to put shoes on!

There are so many pictures of me with just a diaper or granny panties on as a toddler. Going sans pants happens to everyone.
