It’s raining men!

May 18, 2011

Ok…I fibbed a bit.  It is raining, not men though.  However, I am taking some influence from menswear today.  Do I normally dress in my brother’s clothes…no (thanks for the tie, Mark!), but I do love challenges and this look is for another Bloggers Do It Better installment.

Does pregnancy and menswear mix?  Not quiet sure.  I don’t remember the last time I wore a tie on purpose…maybe 7th grade band or something.  Either way, it was fun to give something new a try!

blazer, button down, skirt – thrift; tie – borrowed from bro; shoes – Payless

Interesting challenge, right? I would not have worn a tie otherwise. I do have to say though, got a few strange looks at work (from the few men I work with)…oh well. ; )

Yes, I wouldn’t normally wear a tie either! But the whole outfit even without the tie can work for you, no?
I like the light blue colors of your outfit (I like light blue in general 🙂 ) And the tie taches so well!!

I would probably wear it sans tie…maybe loaded with necklaces instead!

Totally great outfit. I like everything. Did you get those shoes at payless this year? LOVE. I had to laugh at your title. My daughter was a competition dancer and that song “It’s raining Men” was sure to show up about 5 times at every competition! You are adorable in your menswear and do your baby bump proud!

I’d love it if you would stop by and see how a 45+ year old handles “Prep School”—you might find something to smile about anyway! See you there! http://stillblondeafteralltheseyears.com/2011/05/menswear-american-prep-outfits-modeled-by-women-over-45-bloggers-do-it-better/
