Keeping It Balanced

Recently I read a magazine that said if you wear something masculine, counter it with two pieces that are more feminine.  And while this makes sense, I tend to do the reverse.  After putting on this white linen dress and floral wedges, I felt too girlie.  (And that sweet, girlie thing just isn’t for me.)  So, to balance it all out, I threw on a baseball hat.

Same difference, I guess.  What way do you lean towards…more masculine or feminine?

I love that you did the reverse. The cap and cunnies are kinda killer. For me it depends on mood. That’s the great things about personal style, right?! You can always change it. (I was doing menswear look in my last post too;)

Oh yes….femme/masc, soft/tough is really the way to go! I also did that in my latest post and accented with a fedora. I love your hat version here….so cute!

I’ve never been a fan of the baseball hat trend, but I think you’ve pulled this style off really well here with the right combination of pieces. It’s probably because the cap and girly dress + shoes are total opposites. I like the style less when it’s all “sporty”. Anyhow, I tend to stray away from totally girly looks, too, and like to counterbalance with more masculine or casual items. Love the shape of the dress… it’s exactly what I’ve been looking to find. A white dress needs to make it into my closet someday.

I thought you were Cheryl Cole for a minute! Very cool. Not sure I could get away with a baseball cap but you can! Gorgeous! I would love you to link up to my new style linky Fashion Friday, here: http://mummysgotstyle.com/fashion-friday-launches/
